CHILD'S GAME NEWS:
New Horor Movie: '33 Griffin Lane'
December 7, 2006 -- Independent writer and director, Todd Kniss (BLOOD DEEP) has recently wrapped production on his second feature film, 33 GRIFFIN LANE.
Produced by episode 91, a production company in his own named, “33 GRIFFIN LANE” tells the story of a teenage girl who gets more than she bargained for when she and her classmates go looking for trouble only discover that trouble…is looking for them.
For 33 GRIFFIN LANE Todd asks back Kelci B. Lowry, Kelli Nordhus and Bo Foxworth. Also starring in the film are Will Rothaar (HEARTS IN ATLANTIS, MUST LOVE DOGS), Lauren Maher (PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN), Michelle Lang (“Reno 911!: Miami,” DATE MOVIE), Trishelle Cannatella (“The Real World: New York,” DUKES OF HAZARD: THE BEGINNING), Chris Collins (“Without A Trace”), and Natalie Dreyfus (“Whatever,” LET IT RIDE).
“’33’ we did a bit different than Blood Deep. We put just as much time and care into developing the characters, but added GALLONS more blood, action and suspense to give the audience what they really wanted,” said Todd Kniss who’s feature film debut BLOOD DEEP screened at several international film festivals last year including the Brussels International Festival of Fantastic Film, Another Hole in the Head Film Festival, PiFAN, and Indiefest Chicago.
“Because we filmed digitally, using three Panasonic HVX200 cameras, we had a lot more freedom [than we had with 35mm film on the set of Blood Deep] and were able to keep our number of shooting days to a minimum…which meant more money was freed up and able to be spent on cool effects like blood, prosthetics, and creatures,” added Todd.
In 33 GRIFFIN LANE, two creatures—half human and half gryphon—and ALL female—terrorize a group of teenage kids who sneak into an abandoned house.
Assisting the special effects department, headed again by industry veteran, Richard Miranda (THE MANGLER REBORN, WAY OF THE VAMPIRE) is the addition of an illustration team that will add graphic 2-D animation to help bring the creatures to supernatural life.
