Production Weekly: King's 'Talisman' Heads to TNT

December 6, 2006 -- Production Weekly reports that Stephen King and Peter Straub's 'The Talisman' is set to become a miniseries, with the scribe of the American version of "The Ring" writing the script. Ehren Kruger, who wrote both "The Ring" and "Scream 3" is at work on the screenplay. Here's what PW had to say about the project:

"Stephen King and Peter Straubs’ other-worldly adventure “The Talisman,” has been given a greenlight as a six-hour limited series slated to premiere in Summer 2008. Ehren Kruger will adapt the King/Straub novel written in 1984, “Talisman” marks the first collaboration between bestselling authors King and Straub. The story charts the adventure of a twelve year old boy named Jack Sawyer. The young hero sets out from the East Coast of the USA in a bid to save his mother, who is dying from cancer, by finding an artifact called ‘The Talisman’.
