'Veil of Blood' to have World Premiere in December

October 16, 2006 -- "Veil of Blood," a new indie horror film not to be confused with the '70s sexploitation flick of the same name, is having its world premiere this December.

"Veil of Blood," a gory off-beat horror film, will premiere at the Coolidge Corner Theater at midnight on Saturday, December 9.

Veil of Blood blends dark humor with gruesome shocks and gore. The film took five years to complete, and was produced by a group of passionate local artists. The film was produced outside mainstream cinema and financed by the film's director, Joe Lemieux. The budget was stretched to its limit, but through many maxxed out credit cards and penny pinching the film is completed.

The story:

A mob hit awakens an ancient vengeful spirit and unleashes it upon the quiet New England town of Arkwich. This relentless entity will eviscerate anyone in its path, and wonít stop until it has completed its unearthly mission.

Crew:

Joe Lemieux (Writer/Producer/Director) - Veil of Blood is the writing and directing debut of Joe Lemieux. Joe graduated from Full Sail film school in 1998 and has worked in the film industry for over ten years. He recently sold the script Mrs. Maple, a short children's film currently in production. He has also worked on independent films like Never Met Picasso and The Living Room Waltz, as well as higher budget productions such as The Crucible and Celtic Pride.

Roy Montalbano (Director of Photography) - Roy met Joe at Full Sail in 1996. He has worked on more than 50 projects as a freelance camera assist/operator, and Veil of Blood was his first feature as Director of Photography. After Veil of Blood Roy worked on features and music videos until 2004. He is currently studying to be a nurse.

Tim Dennis (Producer) - Veil of Blood is the producing debut of Tim Dennis. Tim has entertained many audiences with improv and sketch comedy, including a thirty-month run in Bostonís Theater District, has appeared in several movies and videos, and performs nationally for corporate clients.

Michael Neel (Editor) - Michael Neel has worked as a director of photography, editor, producer and director on a variety of projects, including independent documentaries, narrative films, stop-motion animation, and television. His work has been seen on NBC, PBS, FX and CNN. He directed, produced, and edited Growing Old, a feature-length documentary on aging, and he is a director of photography and producer on Mrs. Maple.
