Out on DVD This Tuesday: Master of Horror - 'Sounds Like ...' and 'The Washingtonians'
September 16, 2007 -- Starz/Anchor Bay has backed out of funding the third season of "Masters of Horror," but Lionsgate has stepped in to fill the void. This according to series creator Mick Garris, who spoke about it on Fangoria radio. In addition, the series is set for a new network as well, as Showtime isn't interesting in a third season either. Too bad, since Masters of Horror was the only good thing on Showtime. [MORE]

Hollywood Reporter: Weinstein Bros. Pick Up 'Diary of the Dead'
September 12, 2007 -- After a modest day, the relatively dead Toronto market rose to life late Tuesday as North American rights, including Mexico, for "George A. Romero's Diary of the Dead" went to the Weinstein Co. for $2 million-$2.5 million. [MORE]

September 6, 2007 -- Not too much is hitting stores this week, with the exception of a "Resident Evil" 1 and 2 re-release. Sept. 11, however, is going to see an onslaught of new titles. Stay tuned till then. "The Unholy," however, is a conspiracy horror film with Adrienne Barbeau and looks interesting.
'Diary of the Dead' One of the Most Anticipated Titles at Toronto Fest
September 5, 2007 -- The Toronto Star has announced the results of their annual "chasing the buzz" poll revealing the most anticipated movies at the Toronto International Film Festival. A panel of experts rated George A. Romero's DIARY OF THE DEAD among the top-three coolest and most talked-about films of 2007 (that's out of 349 entries to be screened this year). Out on DVD Tomorrow: 'Invasion of the Body Snatchers,' 'Bubba Ho Tep,' 'Disturbia'
August 5, 2007 -- Not a big day for horror on DVD, but things are picking up a bit with the first Anamorphic release of "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" from 1978, along with "Disturbia" and a new special edition of "Bubba Ho Tep." Also out this week are re-releases of "The Fly" from Cronenberg and "Fly II," which have been put on DVD umpteen times already. Also a single-disc release of "Friday the 13th" and "Friday the 13th Part 2" is hitting stores. Paramount has a small horror film called "Beneath" striking stores as well. All in all, a big week for re-releases. The "Invasion" release is well worth checking out.
