April 24, 2009 "The Crazies" redo gets its release date shifted, while "Piranha 3D" gets a cameo and "The Stepfather" gets a poster. It's remake news for Friday.

"The Crazies" redo from Overture Films has shifted its release date from Sept. 25, 2009 to February 26, 2010. ... Richard Dreyfuss is slated to have a cameo in Alex Aja's remake "Piranha 3D." Not too sure of the logic of the cameo, but Dreyfuss did star in "Jaws." ...

The remake of the '80s classic "The Stepfather" now has a poster, which looks pretty good. Here it is. But damn if it doesn't say the movie is PG-13!



... Meanwhile, Thomas Dekker (From Within, Laid to Rest, "The Sarah Connor Chronicles") has been added to the cast of Samuel Bayer's "Nightmare on Elm Street" remake, being produced by Platinum Dunes.
