May 3, 2009 Well, a "Nightmare on Elm Street" remake is being filmed right now. We might as well all learn to just accept it and move on. Here's the latest casting news.



Clancy Brown has joined the cast of Platinum Dunes' "Nightmare on Elm Street" remake. Brown is a pretty frequent B movie actor who was in the miniseries "Carnivale" and more recently the film "The Burrowers." We also saw him in "Starship Troopers," "Pet Sematary II" and "Highlander."

Meanwhile, Katie Cassidy has also joined the cast presumably as a beautiful blonde victim. She's joining Thomas Dekker and Kyle Gallner as young victims.

Principal photography has already started on Samuel Bayer's remake which is due to hit screens April 16, 2010. Jackie Earle Haley is portraying Freddy Krueger, with Roony Mara playing Nancy Thompson.
