Good Word of Mouth Propels 'Paranormal Activity' to Number 1   

October 23, 2009 On Wednesday, the best horror movie of the year -- "Paranormal Activity" -- was the Number One movie at the box office.

Not a huge feat considering it was a weekday, but definitely a sign that the uber-low budget horror movie is getting good word of mouth. Its Wednesday take was $1.64 million. We'll see if its legs last through Halloween.
