The Return of John Carpenter

January 11, 2010 Out of the limelight since directing two excellent episodes of "Masters of Horror", John Carpenter is finally coming back with a full length feature film, "The Ward." He recently spoke with rench film website Blog Didier Allouch about his career and admits to being burned out. Click here to check it out.

Due for a release in September, "The Ward" revolves around a young institutionalized woman named Kristen (Amber Heard) who is haunted by a mysterious and deadly ghost. As danger creeps closer, she comes to realize that this ghost might be darker than anything she ever could have imagined. The film was penned by Michael Rasmussen and Shawn Rasmussen.

Here is some footage from the in-production movie as well:

Carpenter hasn't directed a full-length movie since the underrated "Ghosts of Mars" nearly 10 years ago.
