Severin Films Announces a Slew of Classic, Unjustly Unavailable British Horror Films on DVD

April 16, 2010 God bless Severin Films. The U.S. company is delivering high definition remasters of some essential British horror films that either have never been released on DVD in the U.S. before, or only had weak DVD releases.

Among them:

- The Hammer masterpiece "Vampire Circus"
- The Hammer near mastepierce "Hands of the Ripper"
- The so-so Hammer film "Twins of Evil"

Ironically, both "Hands" and "Twins" were released on a double bill back in the sleazy '70s.

And, to make things even sweeter Severin will be releasing a high-definition mastered edition of

- "Horror Express"!

This is huuuuge news for fans of the classic 1970s stuff. The first 3 titles have never been released to DVD in the U.S. before. And "Horror Express" only had a non-anamorphic release to DVD about 10 years ago.

No release date has been announced yet. Hopefully we'll get our hands on these films by fall of this year.
