Blu-Ray and Prequel News: Getting Excited About the 'Alien' Franchise Again

July 31, 2010 I actually was just asking myself: Whatever happened to the Ridley Scott "Alien" prequel everyone was talking about? The one that will apparently tell the story of the "The Pilot" from the first film -- the fossilized alien with the burst chest the crew of the Nostromo discovered.

Well, fans of "Lost" should be excited to hear that Damon Lindelof, co-creator of "Lost" and uncredited scripter of "Star Trek," has been brought on board to rewrite the script by Jon Spaihts. The film is sounding more intriguing every day.

Although it's hard to imagine an "Alien" film that focuses on the plight of another "Alien." Clearly that fossil they discovered in the first film was not even remotely human.

Meanwhile, the “Alien” series that was is due for a Blu-Ray release this October 25. And the trailer for it is live now.
