Remake Alert: 'Toxic Avenger' Being Tackled by the Director of 'Hot Tub Time Machine'

November 7, 2010 A pretty overrrated "older guy" comedy, "Hot Tub Time Machine" was the last MGM film to do decent box office in theaters. Now, it's director, Steve Pink, is signed to direct a remake of Lloyd Kaufman's classic "The Toxic Avenger."

Pink will be co-writing the film with Daniel C. Mitchell and it will be produced by Akiva Goldsman, Richard Spaerstein and Charlie Corwin.

"Toxic Avenger" is clearly a film that does not need or deserve a remake -- which of course means it's going to get one.
