As we are all aware, another icon has left us. The great Ingrid Pitt passed away today. She was only in a few horror films in the '70s, but they were all classics: "Countess Dracula," "The Vampire Lovers," "The Wicker Man," and "The House That Dripped Blood." "Countess Dracula" was undeniably her best.
An immigrant from Poland who survived the Holocaust, Pitt was one of the most famous scream queens of all time -- and it's a shock that she's gone at a relatively young age (73). Although she was only a few horror films in the '70s, in recent years, she wholeheartedly embraced her status as a scream queen icon and starred in some other fear films. She will be greatly missed.
