Stanley Kubrick's 'The Shining' Gets a Prequel

April 11, 2013 It's been more than three decades since Stanley Kubrick's take on "The Shining" hit theaters. Warner Bros. is following 20th Century Fox's example with their prequel to "Alien" ("Prometheus") with a prequel to their big horror film of 1980.

Deadline reports: "Glen Mazzara, who ran AMC's smash hit series The Walking Dead for the past several seasons, will now focus on ghosts. Hes in talks to write The Overlook Hotel, a prequel to the Stanley Kubrick-directed The Shining, based on the Stephen King novel."
