‘Beast Within' Announced for Blu-Ray

June 17, 2013 Shout Factory! has announced that transformation horror classic "The Beast Within" is finally hitting high definition later this year, along with another VHS horror staple, "Crawlspace" from 1986.

"Crawlspace" starred Klaus Kinski and mostly had an impact in video stores. But the 1982 Phillipe Mora film "The Beast Within" had a pretty big impact when it was released to theaters during the "transformation scene" craze that featured such films as "The Howling" and "An American Werewolf in London." It took 19 years for it to be released to DVD. That DVD is now out of print and fetching a princely sum in used music stores and on eBay. Expect those prices to drop when the Blu Ray becomes available later this year.
