RIP Kate O'Mara   

March 30, 2014 The world of horror lost one of the great British scream queens of the 1970s this week: Kate O'Mara, star of "Horror of Frankenstein" and "Vampire Lovers," has passed away. Kate O'Mara was a scream queen.



To the general public, the 74-year-old actress was known primarily for playing Caress Morell, the scheming sister of Alexis Colby in "Dynasty" in the 1980s, and to sci-fi fans for playing Rani in Doctor Who.



But lovers of Hammer horror will remember her for a memorable role as one of the female leads (alongside Veronica Carlson) in "Horror of Frankenstein" with Ralph Bates, and for a smaller role in the Ingrid Pitt classic "The Vampire Lovers."
