February 13, 2008 Quick Newsbites on "Paranormal Activity", "Black Water" and "Friday the 13th"

"Paranormal Activity" has reportedly been cancelled from this Saturday's San Francisco Independent Film Festival, apparently because Dreamworks (which now owns the film) doesn't want it shown until it's decided what to do with it. Weird. We don't have confirmation on this yet, but Twitch Film is reporting it. ... The "Friday the 13th" remake is set to begin shooting April 21 in Austin, Texas, according to Bloody-Disgusting. ... AJ Bowen, star of "The Signal" (opening next Friday) is set to star in Ti West's next feature film, "House of the Devil," according to Icons of Fright. ... Another Aussie killer croc movie is hitting DVD -- this one on Feb. 19. Check out the trailer for "Black Water" here. In "Black Water," three friends must fight for their lives against a man-eating crocodile when they become trapped in a remote Australian mangrove swamp.
