Director: 'Nightmare' DVD to Be Full, Uncut Version

March 3, 2008 For those of you old enough to remember VHS horror of the very early 1980s, the word "Nightmare" conjures up a very sick "video nasty" that hit the format. Tom Savini, who at least helped do the effects, didn't want his name associated with the movie.

It was a really, really gruesome horror movie. It then faded out of print and never had an appropriate DVD release. But Code Red DVD is now releasing the film. The director talked to them about accusations that the version hitting disc isn't the true uncut version.

"... POSITIVELY, THIS IS THE UNCUT VERSION WHICH WAS RELEASED IN NEW YORK MORE THAN 20 YEARS AGO...SO FEEL FREE TO ANSWER TO YOUR CRITICS THAT I ACCEPT THIS VERSION."

Not sure when this new DVD of "Nightmare" will hit stores, but when it does, many a horror fan will plunk down money for it, despite the fact that it's a pretty bad movie, as our review can attest to.
