March 11, 2008 "Dance of the Dead" had its world premiere this weekend as a midnight entry in the SXSW Film Festival, and the film apparently has the best buzz of any horror movie that has screened at a fest this year so far.
"Gory, ridiculous fun from start to finish, Dance of the Dead will leave zombie fans smiling with ghoulish glee," writes SlashFilm.
"... [W]e've already stumbled across this year's great new zombie flick - Dance of the Dead. The film is a fun mix of Shaun of the Dead, Dawn of the Dead, any of Michael Bay's scripts, and any high school prom movie you've ever seen. It's fun, it's exciting, and it's really damn good," writes FirstShowing.net.
Cinematical writes: "As for the film, it was a rollicking good time. I'm not a huge horror flick chick, but I had so much fun at this film, and I'm glad I stayed up to see it."
In any case, "Dance of the Dead" looks like it's a horror movie that's about to break out, and I can't wait to see it. Hopefully it will screen in a fest on the West Coast soon. It's directed by Gregg Bishop, who helmed the thriller "The Other Side."
