John Carpenter Classics to Hit Blu-Ray in the UK

June 4, 2008 Optimum Home Entertainment will be releasing several classic John Carpenter films on Blu-Ray in the UK.

For you lucky UK readers with Blu-Ray players, "Escape From New York," "The Fog" and "They Live" hit the format August 4.

We U.S. residents will have to wait God knows how long for these finally to show up on our shows, so consider yourselves lucky! They all come with pretty minimal special features. But I saw "Escape" on HD on Cable and it looked fabulous -- and "The Fog" looks great on HD on the import HD-DVD versions that came out.
