Variety reports: "Sobini Films will launch production in mid-July on thriller “Burning Bright,” starring Briana Evigan (“Step Up 2 the Streets”). Pic, which will lense in Florida, has a SAG waiver, allowing guild actors to work even if SAG is on strike. Sundance alumnus Carlos Brooks (“Quid Pro Quo”) will direct the movie; producers are Sobini topper Mark Amin and David Higgins (“Hard Candy”), who created the story and will produce under his Launchpad Prods. banner. Sobini’s Cami Winikoff will also produce." The film is about some people stuck in a home with a tiger during a hurricane. ...
So-so '80s horror film "Waxwork" is now being remade. ... Jake Kennedy, director of "Days of Darkness", is now filming "The Devils Dungeon," about strippers in peril at a private party run by a psychopath. ...
