'Nightmare on Elm Street' Gets a Writer   

July 23, 2008 Wesley Strick, who penned "Cape Fear" and "Doom," is writing the "Nightmare on Elm Street" remake for New Line.

So says the Hollywood Reporter. The remake is being produced by Michael Bay's Platinum Dunes and is apparently not going to feature Robert Englund as Freddy -- although anything's possible.
