August 9, 2008 In celebration of Anchor Bay’s new "Phantasm IV: Oblivion DVD" release later this month, Don Coscarelli’s horror classic, the original "Phantasm" (review here) will have its “World Mausoleum Premiere” at the legendary Hollywood Forever Cemetery, as part of Cinespia’s “Summer Screenings” series at the famed resting place for Hollywood’s elite. Lucky fans can win pre-release copies of "Phantasm IV: Oblivion" (review of that here).
Angus “Tall Man” Scrimm, Reggie “Ice Cream Man” Bannister, Kat “Lady In Lavender” Lester and Writer/Director Don Coscarelli will introduce the screening Sunday, August 10, 2008. Gates open to the public at 7 p.m. and the program starts at 8:30 p.m.

In 1979, horror fans all over the world witnessed a new kind of horror film with the release of Don Coscarelli’s Phantasm. Now, as it nears its thirtieth anniversary, Phantasm will finally receive a “World Masoleum Premiere” in the most appropriate of venues: an actual cemetery! As part of their annual outdoor “Summer Screenings” series, Cinespia will present the original Phantasm – projected on the wall of the Hollywood Forever Cemetery mausoleum. The film’s stars Angus “Tall Man” Scrimm, Reggie “Ice Cream Man” Bannister, Kat “Lady in Lavender” Lester and writer/director Don Coscarelli will be on hand to introduce the screening and reminisce about the making of what is now considered one of the seminal horror films of the last century.
In addition, there will be a Phantasm trivia contest conducted by the special guests, where lucky “Phans” will have a chance to win the new Phantasm IV: Oblivion DVD – signed by Angus, Reggie, Kat and Don! Phantasm IV: Oblivion, the final chapter in the classic horror saga, arrives on DVD August 26th from Anchor Bay Entertainment.
