August 26, 2008 It's so confusing keeping track of remakes vs. sequels, especially when sequels to the original films are still being made along with the remakes. Well, one franchise that's officially in sequel-only mode is "Halloween," and Alexandre Bustillo and Julien Maury, the helmers of the excellent "Inside", are set to direct a sequel to Rob Zombie's mixed-bag of a "Halloween" remake.
Rue Morgue Magazine has reported that the two French filmmakers are officially attached to make "Halloween 2." "...it's a proposition we couldn't refuse,” Maury explained to the magazine. The two were originally set to remake "Hellraiser," but that deal fell through.
Dimension, which owns Hellraiser and Halloween rights, distributed the two filmmakers' excellent "Inside" in the U.S. For a review of that, click here.
