No 'Grindhouse' Blu-Ray in the USA

August 31, 2008 It looks like hopes for a Blu-Ray release of the full-length "Grindhouse" are dashed. The Digital Bits reports that Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez's double-feature is heading to Blu-Ray as two separate films -- "Death Proof" and "Planet Terror" -- on December 16, and are basically just the DVDs in Blu-Ray form.

The theatrical-length "Grindhouse" did see a DVD release in Japan but there's no word on it every reaching U.S. or European DVD or Blu-Ray shelves.
