I wasn't the biggest fan of "The Strangers," but I was apparently alone in my sentiment. The film was a huge hit and a sequel is of course in the works.
Writer-director Bryan Bertino has been coaxed back by distributors Rogue to write the sequel although it's unclear if he'll direct. Variety has reported that Liv Tyler is "expected" to return. Give that the first film made more than $50 million, they should be able to afford her. The film will likely begin shooting early next year.
It would be nice to see a sequel where the killers get their comeuppance, so here's hoping the sequel does get made right and isn't a simple retread of the first film.
