'Vinyan' Gets Snatched Up by Sony   

September 5, 2008 French horror is hot! But what else is new? Now Sony is jumping on the French horror bandwagon, snatching up rights at the Toronto International Film Festival for Vinyan.

From today's Hollywood Reporter:

Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions Group acquired domestic and Australian rights to "Vinyan." Fabrice Du Welz's film stars Rufus Sewell and Emmanuelle Beart as a couple searching for their missing son in a jungle filled with feral children.



In Fabrice Du Welz's "Vinyan," a couple are looking for their child who was lost in the tsunami - their search takes them to the dangerous Thai-Burmese waters, and then into the jungle, where they face unknown but horrifying dangers.
