'Martyrs' Rated X in France

September 11, 2008 Director Pascal Laugier told an audience at the Toronto International Film Festival that the movie (which premiered there) had just received a rating in France: and it was "18A", the most restrictive rating you can get in the country.

Pascal Laugier's "Martyrs" was purchased by Dimension for U.S. release and is hitting screens in France June 18. If it's even half as good as "Inside" or "Frontiers", we can expect an awesome horror movie when it finally hits the U.S.

The film stars Morjana Alaoui and Mylene Jampanoi. Diretor Laugier also helmed "House of Voices," released in the U.S. by Rogue Pictures.
