September 26, 2008 George Romero is at work at a new zombie film that many people expected would be a sequel to "Diary of the Dead." Now, multiple sources across the Internet have discovered the new film is not a sequel at all, but a standalone zombie film set on an island.

It's a concept that's been bandied about before. In fact, wasn't Tom Savini working on a similar project about 8 years ago? Now it's semi-confirmed that Romero is working on such an idea.
