Reincarnation of Isabel (1972)
Directed by Renato Polselli

Starring Christa Barrymore Consolata Moschera Mickey Hargitay Raul Lovecchio Rita Calderoni

Arty Euro trash film, recently re-released to video by London-based Salvation Films, is a pretty odd and interesting horror film.

A cult of Satanists in red tights sacrifice virgins in an attempt to revive the long-since deceased witch Isabel, who was burned at the stake in the 1400s. The narrative shifts back and forth from the present to the past—pretty daring for a low budget horror film. Director Polselli doesn't hesitate to show bare breasts as often as the story allows. Gore effects are extremely fake though.

Salvation is releasing a number of these long-forgotten Euro-goth trash flicks to video under the brand name "Redemption." Each film gets an introduction from a horror-hostess modeled after Elvira, but ten times sexier and surrounded by beautiful, topless women.

It's an interesting marketing model to say the least. Here's hoping it's a success.
