Shepherd plays Tommy Jarvis, the Corey Feldman character from the first film, now grown up and in recovery in a mental institution.
This movie really sucks. The worst in the series and with an ending that felt like it was written by the people behind "Scooby Doo," the only bright spot was the awesome nude scene featuring Debisu Voorhees, the only actress in the entire series with the last name Voorhees. She's one of the gorgeous inmates of the institution. Sadly, that other Voorhees (Jason) is nowhere to be found in this film except in a dream sequence.
In the next film, producer's wisely chose to bring back Jason.
