Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood (1988)
Directed by John Carl Buechler

Starring Kane Hodder Lar Park-Lincoln

The series started sucking again. In a motif used in a lot of tired slasher franchises, including the "Halloween" series, a woman gains a psychic link with the killer, Jason Voorhees. He's resurrected when a telepathic attempts to bring back her father, who drowned in Crystal Lake. Of course, she brings back Jason, also located at the bottom of Crystal Lake, after being dispatched there in the sixth movie. Jason of course starts killing once again. It's a vain attempt at putting a new twist on the usual hack-'em-slash-'em formula used in these movies.

At this point, even high school kids were getting bored of these movies and Part VII didn't fare spectacularly at the box office. Producers attempted to add yet another new spin on the concept with "Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan."
