Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan (1989)
Directed by Rob Hedden

Starring Kane Hodder Tiffany Paulsen Tim Mirkovich Todd Shaffer

The series really started to bite bad with this one. It opens with a shot of New York and a little narration about what a horrible city it is. Cut to see some teens mugging a businessman and a rat in a barrel of sludge. Cut to a boat on Crystal Lake where two young lovers take off their clothes. Cut to Jason's corpse on the bottom of the lake being resurrected by an electric power cable that the boat's anchor got caught on.

You get an idea of what a piece of crap this movie is going to be. Jason winds up on a cruise from Camp Crystal Lake to New York, killing more teens along the way. Sucks ass. Special effects are lame too. Ticket sales were slow for this one, but producers still tried again with the satire "Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday."
