Borrower (1991)
Directed by John McNaughton

Starring Antonio Fargas Don Gordon Rae Dawn Chong Tom Towles

O.K. rehash of many of the themes we saw in "The Hidden" has Rae Dawn Chong as a cop on the trail of an alien who decapitates people, then borrows their heads.

His only problem posing as earthlings is that his newly borrowed heads have a nasty habit of exploding, forcing him to murder and decapitate more and more people. Dark, professionally directed and moody, the film fails to overcome a slow, dull pace, and Chong is nothing to twist and shout about.

But cult movie fans desperate for something to watch might get a mild kick out of it. I'd give it just a mild thumbs up. Director McNaughton became famous for directing "Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer."

For some reason, this film has never been available on DVD.
